The Integrated Curriculum &
Instruction Learning Support Organization is committed to developing autonomy of
leadership, teaching staff and students. Therefore, it is important to note
that ICI schools are not limited to working with any particular educational
services providers. ICI schools choose their own professional development and
curriculum partners and/or develop their own in-house professional development
efforts.
At the same time, proven
quality providers have developed relationships with a number of schools and are
in demand by others. A number of have offered to customize services for
Integrated Curriculum & Instruction schools especially to provide continuity of
relationships that support deep adult and student learning.
The Research and Development
arm of the ICI LSO will consist of NYC educators as well as nationally
recognized researchers who are fluent in these approaches as well and can extend
the work deeply into schools. Working with members of the ICI Research and
Development Team as well as directly with schools and Field Teams, these
partners offer ICI clients opportunities to meet the needs of special
populations and to continue to build the capacity to sustain quality teaching,
high student achievement and conscious leadership.
These services are in
addition to the services provided by ICI LSO and involve some additional cost to
schools.
